'The truth about mold'- Mold is evil. You can kill it, but with a food source (moisture), it can come back to life and it will do so with a vengeance.
When mold starts in a property, the spores go airborne and get into the HVAC system, infect the unit and spread throughout the entire property. It not only has to be killed- it also has to be removed.
What is the best method to remove it?
This has been made into a controversial question. Most mold testing companies insist on one particular method. The reason- as testers, they may have gone though a one day or one week course to learn how to operate the test equipment and learn the basics.
The method they recommend is the IAQ2 method. International Air Quality Association is a group dedicated to mold. Knowing there are many products that can kill mold and many ways to do it, they had to pick one to recommend and this method fits most of the requirements.
Is it the best, or only way? Not necessarily. Airborne mold spores are invisible to the naked eye. The only way to know if the job is successful is to have air quality test.
My answer- the best method is the one that passes the test!
In this day and age, many try to confuse or scare you into believing they or their way is the best or only way to do it. I have made a good living for many years by being honest with people.
